ContactMaker Pro - FAQ's  -  0870 855 4100

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why do I have to load the Runtime version? ContactMaker is written using the proven and widely used database product Microsoft Access. Millions of users have Access on their machines and if this is the case then you need only use the normal version of ContactMaker. If, however, you do not have Access on your PC or you have an old version of Access (pre Access 2000), then you need certain runtime routines to allow ContactMaker to work. Once these routines are loaded, then Contactmaker works in exactly the same way.

Why should I use ContactMaker rather than Outlook?

ContactMaker complements Outlook, which is an excellent tool but does not give the user the same levels of input and control that ContactMaker does. ContactMaker provides a better tool for storing, searching and utilising contact data.  ContactMaker is a true Contact Management program, but maintains it’s simplicity of use – a key factor

Why do I need to build up my own Options lists? ContactMaker gives you the flexibility on how you want to categorise your contacts, companies you deal with, etc as we respect the fact that only you know how you want to classify the different types. Also it ensures that, by having the drop down lists that you maintain a consistency of types. This is particularly important when you wish to run a search on a type.

What is the difference between ContactMaker Pro and ContactMaker Pro+? ContactMaker Pro+ offers you the extra facility of being able to easily produce email listings and email shots to your friends, club members, customers, prospects, etc. It allows you to manage and control this internally with minimal effort. With the importance of email in today’s world, this is a very useful and easy to use feature.

If I have purchased ContactMaker Pro and then want to update to the Pro+ version what do I do? Just contact your supplier and a new version, at minimal cost will be sent to you (by Internet or post) and you will just overwrite your existing version. Your contact data will be totally safe and available to the new, updated version.
